Privacy
Last updated 8 October 2026
LearnSmart Kids is a learning app for children aged 5–8. We take children’s privacy seriously and keep what we collect to the minimum needed to teach. The app is still in development; this page describes how it will handle information when it launches, and we will update it before then.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking, and has no forms. If you email us, we use your message only to reply to you.
The app
- Accounts are created by a parent, teacher or school administrator, never by a child.
- A parent creates each child’s profile. Children sign in with a PIN and are never asked for an email address.
- We store a child’s first name or nickname, year group, school class (if any), and their learning activity, such as the words they practise and the writing they do in the app.
- Learning activity is used to choose the next activity for that child and to show progress to their parent and teacher.
- We do not show ads, sell personal data, or share it with advertisers.
AI features
Some activities use Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, to create practice content and hints. We send only the text needed for the activity. We do not send account details such as email addresses or PINs. A child’s own writing can contain names they type themselves, so we treat it as personal information.
Who handles information for us
- Anthropic, to generate practice content and hints.
- Our cloud hosting provider, to store app data securely.
- An email delivery service, to send account emails to parents and teachers.
Each one handles information only to provide that service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep a child’s information only while their account is active. When a parent closes the account or asks us to delete it, we delete it.
Your choices
A parent can ask us to see, correct or delete their child’s information at any time by emailing hello@learnsmart.kids.
